Sony zeigt auf der SID-2007 das weltweit erste flexible Vollfarb OLED. Das OLED benützt die Organische thin-film transistor (TFT) Technologie. Normalerweise verwendet man bei OLED ein Glas Substrat. Sonys Entwickler zeigten eine neue Technik mit TFT auf einem Plastik Substrat. Der Prototyp hat 2.5 Zoll 16.8 Millionen Farben, und eine Auflösung von 120×169 pixel. Das Display ist 0,3 mm dick und wiegt gerade mal 1.5 Gram.
